Autogynephilia is a paraphilia. Here is a definition of a paraphilia. It’s a psychosexual disorder. It is important that we get to grips with this phenomena to understand exactly which biological males are being granted access to female, single sex, spaces.
Here is a definition of autogynephilia (AGP). A disorder identified by Ray Blanchard, who developed a dual typology of “transsexualism” splitting the males into homosexual transsexuals (HSTS) and heterosexual transsexuals who are autogynephiles (AGP).
These men have an erotic target location error, they are heterosexual but the desire is projected inwards and they wish to become their idealised woman; when I say idealised it is often a hyper-feminine, sexualised version of a woman. Sometimes this is smothered in euphemistic language to de-emphasise the sexual motive. Many of these men have been secret cross-dressers, often wearing the underwear of female relatives to achieve ejaculation.
#BeKind is the new #BeCompliant
Professional clinicians, working in this field, are ethically obliged to show compassion to men who present with this condition, especially to facilitate a therapeutic resolution that may save them from unnecessary surgeries. I argue, however, that women have no such obligation. In reality many of these clinicians show a deficit in empathy for the female sex when they unleash these men in our spaces. In effect we are treated as “validation aids” , obliged to demonstrate our submission to the “new women” on the block through, for example, pronoun compliance.
Men trapped in men’s bodies.
It is a fascinating phenomenon and should you wish to explore their condition, in their own words, you could do worse than read the work of Dr Ann Lawrence, a self-proclaimed (AGP) transsexual. I cover Lawrence’s work in a series on my blog; which you can access here:
My take always from Lawrence’s work. First of all these are not men with “feminine” personalities. They are men who are preoccupied with women as sexual objects. There are numerous, firsthand, testimonies of the sexual proclivities of these men. They can get aroused by being included in a knitting circle, having a manicure, being included in the women’s rights movement. They may confect a story that attempts to desexualise their motives, in particular, by claiming to have known about their “female” self at a time that pre-dates sexual awareness. Lawrence spends quite a long time discussing the reasons for this subterfuge. For Lawrence the condition of autogynephilia is rooted in shame and this shame can give rise to Narcissistic Rage if the male has his identity questioned. This dovetails with many of my social media interactions with “trans-activists”.
From #MeToo to #He’sASheToo
Late transitioning, heterosexual. males, who have married and fathered children, often with highly macho professions are very prominent in this movement. Women’s consent has been ignored, our sex based rights have been over-ruled and compared to apartheid. Indeed Martine Rothblatt, heterosexual transsexual, even wrote a book with this title:
You can read my thread on this book here: Martine Rothblatt
Our political and media elite would do well to explore this paraphilia and ask themselves if they know what they are doing. Lawrence estimates that the majority of “transsexuals” in Europe. Australasia and North America are autogynephiles.
It is also worth noting that Lawrence is himself involved in a public relations exercise for autogynephilia. Whilst his work is fascinating, even compelling, he shows little concern for the experiences of women who are having our, sex-based, rights destroyed, to accommodate AGP males in our spaces. Lawrence gave a rare interview to Stella O Malley and Sasha Ayed, for the Gender: A Wider Lens podcast which was also revealing. Note, that therapists can often glean more information than someone with a combative, interrogative style and I think this approach worked for this series.
I would dearly love to have heard Lawrence answer direct questions about the destruction of women’s rights and the impact of Gender Identity Ideology, more widely, but I suspect this is not an interview which would take place.
