War on reality: The casualties.

Internalised homophobia
This is a common theme. In this post the contributor talks about his dating experience and how “transition” granted access to date “straight” men. As he is considering detransition he has some concern about the loss of this relationship.
Here’s another commentator who is a, same sex attracted, male. He also acknowledges the role of internalised homophobia; which was no doubt impacted by the homophobia he witnessed during his school days. Gay males retreating into faux-straight, medicalised, closets is a significant factor in the male detransitioned community.
Here another commentator talks of his childhood sexual abuse and homophobic bullying.
“Did I transition out of trauma”
Social expectations for males is another common theme as is bullying. Not all the bullying was related, explicitly, to homophobia but the shaming of men with variant expressions of masculinity is a factor. Is this the new “emo”? Childhood sexual abuse is another factor. It can be superficially seductive to escape the body that has been violated. In this instance the abuse by a father would compound the trauma and potentially lead to a rejection of masculinity. Affirmation only “care” is not addressing the underlying, subconscious motivations to seek refuge from your sexed body. “
Here is another detransioner who was a victim of child sexual abuse and also very gender non-conforming. It is probably not unconnected that he was socially outcast. Predators know to seek out the vulnerable.
Male privilege?
Refugees from masculinity are often in flight from the restrictions placed upon men. Lack of support from other men, especially for boys considered “effeminate” is a recurring theme. When we think of men’s rights movements it, too often, seems more a backlash to feminism than a movement to support other men. Many contributors describe their experience as a form of radicalisation.

This issue of struggling with the male role suggests a new type of men’s movement is over due and could mirror the success of early women’s groups. Consciousness raising allowed women to understand their struggles were was common to their sex caste. As Janice Raymonde says in Transsexual Empire:
Pornography, Grooming and Peer Pressure
Another theme is the influence of pornography. This is not the predominant theme but it does make an appearance. It may, or may not, be a more widespread phenomenon than appears. Here the poster says he was using porn from age 10! He also references the sinister forum “egg irl”. This is where questioning children/teens are encouraged to hatch their trans-identity. This forum seems to be mainly older trans-identifying males doing what can only be described as “grooming”.

The role of Gender Identity Clinics/Therapists
There is less criticism than I expected about the role of the therapists and medical professionals. I predict this will change as they talk to other detransitioners and recognise the commonality in their experiences. The detrans forums do resemble consciousness raising sessions.
Here one detransitioner talks about revisiting his old clinic and the walls are festooned with gender identity propaganda. As a kid, with no life experience, they fell for it but, with the benefit of hindsight they find it laughable. There is a palpable sense of relief from those that made it out relatively unscathed. This post is also indicative of some of the sexist ideas which inspired a desire to be “women”. The type of woman he aspired to be was one that can attract “sugar daddies”. He also makes the point that being “trans” was also his career. Looking at how many make YouTube careers out of their trans status it is worth asking if this is also a barrier to detransition. It can be your livelihood.
This 👇 is another damning indictment of the gender therapists. Glossing over the reality and lying about suicide rates. This emotional blackmail is a recurrent theme in the proselytism of transition. This is a terrorist tactic to push parents into complying with a medical pathway.
Better a live daughter than a dead son.
In conclusion. Common themes are homosexuality, grooming/peer pressure , mal-practice by therapists/doctors. The relentless propaganda about Gender Identity Ideology has created immeasurable harm. There is also a wealth of good advice on this forum. These young men have acquired wisdom the hard way. 👇
