The truth about the process
A judge speaks!
We are constantly told the process is onerous and humiliating for people seeking to obtain one. The truth is a little bit different. I have done a few posts on the process. The first one is by a Judge who sits on the Gender Recognition Panel; they determine who can be granted a Gender Recognition Certificate.

This is how Gray describes the process. She regarded the legislation as “avant-garde” but now out of date since other jurisdictions have since legislated to allow self-identification of their “gender”. In case you were unaware there is no requirement for bodily modification which is why we see sex offenders described in terms of “her penis”. The process is essentially administrative in nature and requires no face to face contact yet the Judge notes it is regarded as “oppressive” by some. It also used to cost £140 and now it is just £5.
They have all we are told gained their experience via the “Social Entitlement Chamber” which is just the most fabulous name for a school of judges who seem so out of touch. Here ⇓⇓ we are told that the team work to be as accommodating as possible so that the applicants can demonstrate their “entitlement to a GRC”. Ms Gray takes this very seriously and has only refused 3 out of an estimated 2800. So less than 0.1% were refused. Even then the applicant can go on to appeal. At that stage only one judge needs to make the decision.

An appeal against the GRP.
This is the story of a thrice married father of seven who was refused a gender recognition certificate multiple times. This may have been because the man had served prison time for obtaining explosives with the intent to endanger life. (What woman hasn’t?) 🤷♀️
Ms Jay was clearly a heterosexual and a secret cross dresser which screams autogynephilia. Autogynephilia is a kind of extreme transvestic fetishism that becomes the only source of sexual arousal.
He also has an extensive criminal history as outlined in the court transcript.
The judge does not think this is relevant to the award of a Gender Recognition Certificate.
